New Year, New Opportunities, Same Manifesto

The holidays are officially behind us, folks. Isn't that wild? It came and went in a flash. It is said that the older you get, the quicker time passes. While I'm still so young, I couldn't agree more. I was trying to figure out how to get time back to feeling how it used to when I was younger... infinite and full of so much endless possibility. My fiancé made the observation that when you're young, so many things are new. You perceive things for the first time and take them in and harvest your energy on so many new things you've never experienced before. A particular flower, a road sign, a new drink, your first time on the subway, on the plane, on a train... You're in awe of every new experience. When you're young, time seems like it will stretch on forever. When you're much older, it feels as though it's gone in the blink of an eye. How do we fool time into stopping for us? Document your memories. Time may press onward but we can always revisit moments.

That said, this belief more or less sums up the backbone of what Mornings Like These is for me. Within each of us is endless possibility. How we harness and fine tune those possibilities is what defines us. My goal for MLT is show each person that mornings are something we are all given. The people whose mornings you see in the photos I share are no different than you... they just choose to do something different than you might do. The beauty you might find in their scenes, you can certainly also find in your own surroundings. We are connected through the choices we make each day. We are on this path to fulfillment together and if, in the meantime, we can inspire one another through daily scenes of simplicity and beauty, then we've made a huge difference together.

So where is Mornings Like These going in the New Year?

Going forward into 2014, I have such dreams and hopes for this little project. We've got features coming up in the next few weeks, projects on the horizon, and new people contributing to Mornings Like These in new ways and from completely different places. It is starting to feel like a real global community and I can't tell you how much that warms my heart. I have spoken to small businesses and independent brands about future features and collaborations. I am contented to the core that people are engaging in this community and I couldn't ask for more. If you have any collaboration ideas, would like to have your business/studio featured, or would like to sponsor Mornings Like These, please reach out to me. I am so looking forward to growing and I'd love to have you along for the ride.
